RISC OS Filename Translation

How RISC OS communicates with the outside world is potentially confusing when it comes to filenames.  This article discusses the differences between how RISC OS handles them compared to other systems.

In particular, it covers how RISC OS filetype information is retained on other systems over file systems and the mechanisms in use.

This is an update of a previous article, which attempts to now comprehensively cover this topic.

RISC OS - Too much repetition - Reusable Engineering

The endless wheel reinvention in RISC OS has not helped its progress.  In many instances, NIH (Not invented here) rules.  Of course, an amount of competition is healthy, but it always seems to go too far with RISC OS.
